FOURTH SECTION OF DESIGN THINKING - 4
- Hey guys, I missed session 4, but my friend Harshini filled me in.
- Our instructor showed a video about children's toothbrushes.
- After watching the video, everyone had to write their opinions about it.
- Then, the group focused on identifying problems, as mentioned in session 3. They had to narrow down the top three problems from the 20 problems identified earlier. Here's what they chose:
- Unhygienic canteen with inadequate facilities:
- The canteen is not clean, and the facilities are not up to the mark.
- This can lead to health issues for students.
- Improving hygiene and facilities will ensure a safer eating environment.
- Unhygienic washrooms with improper facilities:
- Washrooms are not clean and lack proper amenities.
- This can affect the overall hygiene and health of students.
- Upgrading the washrooms will improve cleanliness and comfort.
- Dirty whiteboards in classrooms:
- Whiteboards are often dirty and not properly maintained.
- This affects the quality of learning and teaching.
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of whiteboards will enhance the classroom environment.
- These are the three problems our group has decided to tackle. They plan to come up with solutions to address these issues and improve the overall quality of life at our institution.
- I hope this helps!

Design Thinking - Session 5
- In the 5th session, everyone sat together with their teams to discuss the problems they selected.
- Our instructor asked each group to present their chosen problems. My teammates mentioned that the canteen issue had already been solved, so we decided to focus on another problem. The instructor agreed, and some teams even took their discussions outside the campus, for example, to a government hospital.
- During the session, a classmate named Hrishikesha performed a flute piece. His performance was amazing and captivated everyone.
Additional Points:
- Each team shared their progress and the challenges they faced in solving their problems. This allowed for collaborative thinking and idea-sharing among the teams.
- The instructor provided feedback and guidance to each group, helping them refine their approaches and consider different perspectives.
- Teams brainstormed potential solutions and discussed the feasibility of each idea, considering available resources and time constraints.
- The atmosphere was very engaging and supportive, with everyone actively participating and contributing their thoughts.
